The following feedback has been received during community consultation forums:

  • Having the court in Port Pirie is essential – major civic centre. To move it would be a real problem.
  • Kadina is a busy court, closing it would be problematic. It is important to maintain Kadina Court. People are already travelling a long way to get there.
  • Limited public transport from Port Pirie to Port Augusta. Poor public transport in Port Pirie will make it more difficult if it is moved.
  • AVL is generally good for simple matters but not good for more complicated or serious matters. The impact of serious hearings is reduced via AVL. Lots of matters ‘lost in translation’ when on AVL. Time is sometimes wasted waiting for the AVL connection. There is a perception that Pt. Pirie is not a priority for AVL.
