In November 2006, around 50 judges, magistrates, court officials and representatives of community organizations met for a day-long conference about public trust and confidence in Courts in South Australia.

Courts Consulting the Community 2006 followed a landmark study on similar lines, Courts Consulting the Community 2000, but was a smaller version. Both involved a random household survey of around 1000 South Australians, with around 700 metropolitan residents and 300 from regional SA.

On both occasions, the survey was followed by a conference involving participants from community groups. Participants were presented the survey results and asked to draw implications from them and to suggest how problems could be addressed. These pages document Courts Consulting the Community 2006.
