courthouse?
Magistrates daily and Youth usually every second Thursday.
What are your business hours?
9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Is there a general information
counter?
Yes. It displays a range of forms and information brochures.
What facilities/services are
available for people with disabilities?
The main entrance is accessible to a person in a wheelchair.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor eastern side, and the first
floor western side of the building.
Controls in lifts are at a suitable height for people in a wheelchair.
Braille available in all lifts for people with vision impairment.
Amplification systems are installed in all courtrooms.
Portable easy listening devices are available at counters and for in court.
Accessible counters are available.
Accessible water fountains are available.
Closest accessible carparking is located in the northern carpark, accessible
from Blyth Street.
Where can I find out about my
case?
Ask a uniformed Sheriff’s officer, or at the information counter or at the
registry front counter.

Is there a room I can use to
talk to my lawyer?
Yes, there is one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Legal
Services Commission lawyers have their own office.

phone?
There is one coin-operated phone on the ground floor and one on the first
floor.
Can I bring my mobile phone
into court?
You can bring it into the courthouse, but your phone MUST be switched
off in courtrooms or conference rooms.
Where are the public toilets
in the courthouse?
There are toilets on the ground floor and on the first floor. There are
disabled toilets on both floors.
Is there a children’s play
area?
Yes, on the ground floor in the public foyer area, but it is unsupervised.
Is there a parents’ room
available?
Yes, on the first floor. There is also a changing table for babies in the
disabled toilet on the ground floor.
Are there vending machines in
the courthouse?
Yes, there are machines selling soft drinks, flavoured milks and fruit
juice.
Are there cafes nearby?
The nearest food outlets are several fast food restaurants on the corner of
Beach and Dyson Roads about 5 minutes’ walk from the courthouse. There is a
café 20 minutes walk away. A map at the information counter shows all the
closest food outlets.
Where is the nearest public
transport?
There are bus stops nearby on Dyson Road and Beach Road. The Noarlunga
Centre bus/train interchange is about one kilometre from the courthouse.
Is there carparking available
near the courthouse?
The court has its own carpark with free parking for up to 75 cars.
Where is the nearest taxi rank
to the courthouse?
It’s better to call for a taxi if you need one.
What security procedures are in place at the courthouse?
Uniformed
Sheriff’s officers maintain security in the courthouse, as well as acting as
court orderlies. All Sheriff’s officers are trained to provide a safe
environment for everyone in the courthouse.
Can I have a private waiting
room if necessary?
Yes. Victims of Crime have a room which can also be used by other people if
it is not needed for victims’ use. An interview room could also be used.
How can I get an interpreter?
Ask a member of the court staff. Please give us as much notice as you can.
