Yes.  It displays a range of court and law-related pamphlets.  

What facilities/services are available for people with disabilities?
The main entrance is accessible to a person in a wheelchair.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor.
Controls in lifts are at a suitable height for people in a wheelchair.
Braille available in all lifts for people with vision impairment.
Amplification systems are installed in all courtrooms.
Accessible counters are available.
Closest accessible car parking is in front of the building.

Where can I find out about my case?
During circuits, ask the Sheriff’s officer.  At other times, ask at the registry counter.

How long before the hearing should I arrive?
At least 15 minutes early, in case the magistrate is running ahead of time.

Is there a room I can use to speak to my lawyer?
Yes, a number of interview rooms are available so you can speak to your lawyer.

On Main Road.

Can I bring my mobile phone into court?
You can bring it into the courthouse, but your phone MUST be switched off in the courtroom.

Off the waiting area.

Are there cafes near the courthouse?
There are cafes on Main Road and also at the shopping centre off of Ellen Street.

Where is the nearest public transport?
There is a bus service nearby.

Is there carparking available near the courthouse?
There is limited parking in the courthouse carpark and there is also parking on Main Road.

Where is the nearest taxi rank?
Down Ellen Street from the courthouse, at the shopping centre.

What security procedures are in place at the courthouse?
When court is sitting, uniformed Sheriff’s officers maintain security in the courthouse, as well as acting as court orderlies.  All Sheriff’s officers are trained to provide a safe environment for everyone in the courthouse.

When you enter the courthouse, you may be scanned with a hand-held metal detector.  Nothing that could be used in an offensive manner is allowed into the building.  This includes things like pocket knives.  If in doubt, ask a Sheriff’s officer.

Can I have a private waiting room if necessary?
If necessary you can contact the Court prior to your hearing to discuss the availability of a private waiting area.

How can I get an interpreter?
Contact the registry.  Please give as much notice as you can before your hearing.
