There is a phone which accepts both coins and phone cards about 50m from the courthouse.

Can I bring my mobile phone into court?
Mobile phones must be switched off at all times.

Where are public toilets located with the court?
Access to the toilets is from the outside of the court.

Are there cafes near the courthouse?
Yes, there is one next door.

What security measures are in place at the courthouse?
When court is sitting, uniformed Sheriff’s officers maintain security in the courthouse, as well as acting as court orderlies.  All Sheriff’s officers are trained to provide a safe environment for everyone in the courthouse.

When you enter the courthouse, you may be scanned with a hand-held metal detector.  Nothing that could be used in an offensive manner is allowed into the building.  This includes things like pocket knives.  If in doubt, ask a Sheriff’s officer.

Is there carparking available nearby?
There is free on- and off-street parking close by.

Where is the nearest taxi rank?
There is no taxi rank.  You can call for one from the public phone.

How can I get an interpreter?
Ask at the registry.  Please give as much notice as you can before your hearing.
