What
security procedures are in place at the courthouse?
When court is sitting, uniformed Sheriff’s officers maintain security in the
courthouse, as well as acting as court orderlies.
All Sheriff’s officers are trained to provide a safe environment for
everyone in the courthouse.
When you enter the courthouse, you may be scanned with a hand-held metal detector. Nothing that could be used in an offensive manner is allowed into the building. This includes things like pocket knives. If in doubt, ask a Sheriff’s officer.
Can
I have a private waiting room if necessary?
The conference room can be used as a vulnerable witness room, but not as a
general private or witness waiting room.
