Testamentary Causes Jurisdiction - Personal Applications

The following directions apply to applicants desiring to obtaining grants of probate or administration without the intervention of a practitioner:

 

1.      An officer of a trust corporation who is authorised to make an application for a grant of probate or administration on behalf of a trust corporation is not required to attend before the Registrar of Probates in person.

 

2.      Where the applicant on a personal application for a grant of probate or administration is not the Public Trustee or a trust corporation the Registrar of Probates may in his discretion dispense with the requirement that the oath, affidavit or administration bond be sworn or executed before him.
