Hours – After Hours Hearings

1. Commencing
on Monday, 5th July 2004, the Civil Registry shall be open for
business from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except on Saturdays, Sundays, public
holidays and the days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Out of Hours Opening of Civil Registry
2. To request the out of hours opening of the
Civil Registry for conducting urgent business (e.g. issue or execution of
process) contact is to be made with the Manager Registry Services on (08)
82040474.
3. After 5:00 p.m., contact should be made by
calling the Supreme Court after hours number - (08) 82040494. That number will
provide the current contact details of the rostered on-call officer.
4. Provided the business is urgent, and upon
the undertaking to pay the prescribed fee, the Registrar (or on-call officer)
will direct that the Civil Registry be opened.
5. The fee for the out of hours opening of
the Civil Registry is set out in the Supreme Court (Fees) Regulations (as at 1
July 2004, the fee is set at $178 per hour or part thereof).
After Hours Urgent Court Hearings
6. When an urgent after hours hearing is
required contact should be made by calling the Supreme Court after hours number
- (08) 82040494. That number will provide the current contact details of the
rostered on-call officer.
7. The officer will consider the urgency, if
appropriate refer the matter to a judge, and make arrangements for a hearing.
8. Should a hearing result, the prescribed fee
for after hours urgent hearings will be incurred by the requesting party.
9. The fee for opening the court (or the
court remaining open) to hear urgent after hours matters is set out in the
Supreme Court (Fees) Regulations (as at 1 July 2004 the fee is set at $535 per
hour or part thereof).
10. This fee applies in addition to any fee
payable for out of hours Registry services.
