PORT LINCOLN BUSHFIRE FINDINGS TO BE HANDED DOWN NEXT MONTH
The Deputy State Coroner, Mr Anthony Schapel, will hand down his Findings into the nine deaths that occurred during the 2005 Wangary bushfires on Tuesday, December 18.
The Findings will be released at 11 am at the Port Lincoln Racecourse Function Centre, Proper Bay Road, Port Lincoln.
Those who died during the fire were Neil George Richardson, Trent Alan Murnane, Star Ellen Borlase, Jack Morley Borlase, Judith Maud Griffith, Jody Maria Kay, Graham Joseph Russell, Zoe Russell-Kay and Helen Kald Castle.
The first sitting of the Inquest was on October 5, 2005 and the last was on May 8, 2007.
Evidence was heard from 140 witnesses over 233 days. More than 900 exhibits were tendered during the Inquest and 23,329 pages of transcript were produced.
