SPECIAL SITTING OF THE SUPREME COURT  

A special sitting of the Supreme Court will be held on Thursday, 9 June to mark the retirement of the Honourable Justice David Bleby. 

The sitting will be held at 9.30 am in Courtroom 8 of the Sir Samuel Way Building , Victoria Square. 

Justice Bleby was appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court in May 1997, following a distinguished career as a solicitor, barrister and Queen’s Counsel.

Aside from his work on the Bench, hearing long and complex cases in criminal, civil and appeal jurisdictions, Justice Bleby also has worked extensively in the field of legal education and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Adelaide .

A pool camera and still photography are welcome. The pool crew is requested to stay in one spot during the sitting. Photographers are also requested to remain in one spot and not use a flash. 

Audio recording must stop once the special sitting begins, but the pool camera is permitted to film the rest of the sitting without sound.
