A special
sitting of the Supreme Court will be held tomorrow, Friday, 8 July 2011 to mark
the death of the former Chief Justice, The Honourable Len King AC QC.
The sitting
will be held at 9.30 am in Courtroom 8 of the
The
Honourable Mr King AC QC died peacefully on 23 June, aged 86 and was later given
a State funeral.
A pool
camera and still photography are welcome. The pool crew is requested to stay in
one spot during the sitting. Photographers are also requested to remain in one
spot and not use a flash.
Audio
recording must stop once the special sitting begins, but the pool camera is
permitted to film the rest of the sitting without sound.
A
copy of the speech being delivered by the Chief Justice will be available after
the special sitting.
