A special
sitting of the Supreme Court will be held on Monday, 25 July to mark the
retirement of The Honourable Justice Kevin Duggan.
The sitting
will be held at 9.30 am in Courtroom 8 of the
Justice
Duggan was appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court in December 1988, following a
distinguished career as a barrister and Queen’s Counsel.
Aside from
his work on the Bench, Justice Duggan was also a Major General in the Army
Reserve and Judge Advocate General (JAG) for the Australian Defence Force from
1996 until 2001.
A pool
camera and still photography are welcome. The pool crew is requested to stay in
one spot during the sitting. Photographers are also requested to remain in one
spot and not use a flash.
Audio
recording must stop once the special sitting begins, but the pool camera is
permitted to film the rest of the sitting without sound.
