A statement from the State Courts Administrator Ms Penny Croser

“On Wednesday, 15 December 2021, I advised all Courts Administration Authority (CAA) staff that we are seeking feedback on a draft CAA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

Following a risk-assessment the CAA determined to consult on the introduction of a policy of mandatory COVID vaccination for CAA employees.

Under the draft policy all staff would be required to have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine by 7 January 2022 and a second dose by 7 February 2022 (excluding staff with a medical exemption).

The Courts are an essential service in our community that have continued to operate throughout the pandemic. It is critical that we protect judiciary and staff and particularly court users, some of whom are the most vulnerable in our community. The CAA is committed to providing a safe work environment.

In consulting, the CAA seeks feedback from all our staff to understand different views on the policy.

When the consultation period closes, the Executive Leadership Team and the State Courts Administration Council will consider and respond to the feedback before deciding on a policy.”
