Getting a judgment

A judgment is a written decision of the Court.  It is binding on all the parties (unless and until it is overturned by a higher Court).

Judges and Commissioners try to provide a judgment within 8 weeks of the last day of the hearing.

The Court may email a copy of the judgment to all parties if that is the preferred communication with the Court, or may send a hard copy by post, if so desired. Copies of all judgments are published on this website, usually within two days of the judgment being provided to all parties.

Any parties may appeal to the Supreme Court/Court of Appeal against a decision of the ERD Court within 21 calendar days of the decision.
