With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions by the State Government, the Masters have decided that it is in the public interest to end the mask mandate when practitioners are attending matters listed before them.
Masks are no longer required to be worn in courtrooms whilst waiting for a matter to be called on.
It remains the case that social distancing should be observed in the courtroom and that no documents are to be handed up in Court and should be lodged via the Court portal prior to the hearing. If you wish draft minutes to be considered, please upload them to the Court portal prior to the hearing.
Parties are not to physically approach court staff in the court.
Practitioners are reminded that if they are in self-isolation, quarantine, are in any way unwell, they are NOT, under any circumstances, to enter the Sir Samuel Way Building.
If a practitioner has a condition that makes them vulnerable to infection or they are generally concerned and do not wish to come into Court they should advise Chambers at least 24 hours prior to the hearing and make alternative satisfactory arrangements.
Thank you for your co-operation.
