Background:
After becoming admitted to legal practice in 2001, Stephen developed a general commercial litigation practice over the following 20 years, including a period as a Partner of one of Adelaide’s long-established mid-tier legal firms. Since establishing Ansr. Dispute Resolution in 2018, Stephen has transitioned from litigation to full-time mediation and has conducted over 500 mediations including in the Supreme and Magistrates Courts of South Australia, on behalf of the South Australian Office of the Small Business Commissioner, and in private practice. More recently, Stephen has been appointed as settlement conference coordinator under the South Australian Land Acquisition Act, as well as various other mediator panels in South Australia and interstate. Stephen first became nationally accredited mediator in 2010, and became reaccredited to fulfill his transition to full time mediation in 2018. Stephen was elected to the National Mediator Standards Board (now AMDRAS Board) in 2019, and is the current Chair of the AMDRAS Board. Stephen is also the current Chair of the Law Society of South Australia Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, and sits on the Society’s Ethics and Practice Committee.
