Supreme, District and Environment, Resources and Development Court Registry
The court registry located in the Sir Samuel Way building will close at 5.00 pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 and reopen on Friday, 2 January 2026.
Probate Registry
The Probate Registry will close at 12.00pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 and reopen on Monday, 5 January 2026.
Magistrates Court Registries
Adelaide, Suburban and Country registries remain open during the holiday period, with standard operating hours of 9:00am to 5:00pm, except on public holidays. Registries will close at 4.30pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025.
Adelaide Youth Court Registry
The Youth Court registry remains open throughout the holiday period with standard operating hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm, except on public holidays. The Registry will close at 4:30pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025.
Coroners Court Registry
The Coroner’s Office remains open throughout the holiday period, excluding Christmas Day. While the office is operational on the Proclamation Day and New Year’s Day public holidays, it is not open to the public.
Sheriff’s Office Registry
The Sheriff’s Office Registry in the Sir Samuel Way Building will close at 12:00pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 and will reopen on Friday, 2 January 2026. For urgent or after-hours security matters please call 0437 272 902.
CAA Media Office
The CAA Media Office will close at 4.30pm on Wednesday, 24 December 2025 and will reopen on Monday, 20 January 2026. For media enquiries during this period contact CourtSA Registry Services on (08) 8204 2444 or email: media@courts.sa.gov.au.

District Court
Hearings resume the week of 12 January 2026. A District Court Judge on call over the closure period.
Environment, Resources and Development Court
Hearings resume the week of 12 January 2026.
Magistrates Court
Only the Magistrates Court at Adelaide and Elizabeth will sit on Monday, 29 December 2025, Tuesday, 30 December 2025 and Wednesday, 31 December 2025 and hear overnight custodies/arrests where police bail is refused as well as any urgent applications for the State. Regular listings will resume on Friday, 2 January 2026.
Youth Court
The Youth Court will sit on Monday, 29 December 2025, Tuesday, 30 December 2025, and Wednesday, 31 December 2025 to hear overnight custodies/arrests related to young people where police bail is refused, and urgent care and protection matters. Regular listings will resume on Friday, 2 January 2026.
Coroners Court
No inquests are scheduled from Wednesday, 24 December 2025 to Friday, 2 January 2026.
